There is hope that the two sides will come to an agreement that will keep him in purple and gold for at least a few more years.

Both sides are looking to extend their partnership, according to Dave McMenamin. In 2020 it will lead to one championship. James was able to sign an extension on Thursday. If he doesn't sign a new deal by June 30, 2023, he will be free to sign with another team.

James wants to play with his oldest son in the NBA before he hangs up his cleats. The senior year of high school is when Bronny will be eligible for the NBA draft.
