Alabama Has 'Participation Trophy' in Cafeteria to Motivate Players After Title Loss

When Alabama football loses a national title, the program has to come up with new motivational tactics.

The Tide put up a trophy from the College Football Playoff National Championship game in the team cafeteria to motivate them this season, according to Ekiyor Jr.

Alabama has reached the title game six times in the eight years of the College Football Playoff.

Alabama finished the regular season with a 12-1 record, highlighted by a win over Georgia in the SEC Championship Game. They earned the top seed in the playoffs and went on to beat Cincinnati 27-13 in the semifinals.

The SEC Championship Game will be played again after Georgia defeated Michigan 34-11 in the second semifinals. The College Football Playoff National Championship was won by Alabama in overtime.

They won their first national championship in 33 years with a 33-18 victory over their conference rival.

The 15-point loss was the largest margin of defeat since the College Football Playoff National Championship, when the team was trounced by a score of 44-16.

In college football, Alabama has the most talented team. They are one of the best in the nation. A team winning a national title this season is not hard to imagine.

If the end result is another championship, no one will complain if the second place trophy is used to push the Tide over the edge.
