The best racing games can be found in the play store. With so many options to choose from, we've compiled a list that covers a whole slew of sub-genres. You should find a game that's right for you regardless of your preferences.

We have a list of the best games in other genres. Yes, ready? It's time to hit the road.

Asphalt 9: Legends

One of the most popular racing titles in the app store is Asphalt 9. It skips all pretensions of realism and provides an over- the-top experience. The career mode allows players to earn money to upgrade or get new rides. There are eight-car races that are fast and wild.

The controls allow you to focus on shifting lanes to hit specific jumps or routes, while the game handles your steering and acceleration. TouchDrive is the best way to start since there are other control options available.

RECOMMENDED VIDEOS FOR YOU...

You will not soon forget the amazing graphics and soundtrack of Asphalt 9.

CSR2 Racing is a drag racing game. All you have to do is wait for your gear to change and you're good to go. If your timing is good and your ride is upgraded, you should pull across the finish line before your opponent and get some winnings.

The standard currency can be used to purchase high-end cars, while the premium currency can be used to upgrade specific parts.

CSR Racing and CSR Classics are two of the other racing games in the franchise.

Data Wing

Data Wing is a racing adventure that is free and enjoyable. Data Wing's visual styling makes me love it. The levels are amazing, the touch controls are very sharp, and it has a good skill ceiling.

Data Wing has a fun story that is similar to the original tron. It's fun to go back and do it all over again. This is a high replay value. The soundtrack is pretty good as well.

I like everything about Data Wing and it doesn't have any of the drawbacks I usually notice. No ads or IAPs are included.

#Drive

The game blends high-speed car chases with the best elements from the endless runner genre to make it stand out. The art style that uses procedurally generated maps to plot out the curbside attractions and towns you must pass through on your outlaw tour is very good.

You'll need to become a skilled driver in order to collect all the bottle caps as you go. Every time you pass a gas station you are reminded by your sidekick, who doesles out sarcastic comments on every close call.

Although endless runners are often casual games, the touch controls need your attention with quick inputs used to drive your car through tight spots Each vehicle has its own speeds and handling, but you can master each one as you achieve them and race across the three terrains, each with five cities to visit.

There are ads that can be watched to extend a run, or you can pay a one-time in-app purchase to remove ads and get permanent in-game bonuses.

Grand Prix Story

Grand Prix Story is still one of the best racing sims. Compared to the more serious Motorsport Manager Mobile 3, this is more cutesy and fun, but you're still in charge of a racing team, not a single driver.

It's up to you to make sure that your team wins as much as possible. New cars and parts can be built to help your team succeed.

Grand Prix Story is a one-time purchase with no ads or microtransactions, which is why it is a better game than the newer ones. For a certain kind of racing enthusiast, that's the dream, because it's a wholesome, quirky, and fun experience that puts you in the manager's chair instead of on the tarmac.

Hill Climb Racing 2

Hill Climb Racing 2 is a free to play game. There's a lot of vehicles to unlocked, upgrades to purchase, customization for both cars and characters, and a few different game modes.

The game is all about climbing and descending hills as you race other people. A lot of fun is had by playing it. I suggest you check it out because you won't find a lot of realism here.

Horizon Chase — Arcade Racing

The game is reminiscent of the 80s arcade racer Pole position. There's a lot of fun to be had in the game with over 70 tracks and bright retro graphics.

You start the race from the back of the pack and have to pass your opponents to win. If you keep winning, you will be able to upgrade and unlocked 16 cars.

You can play the San Francisco tracks, but you have to pay to play the whole game. We think you will like this game. It is an homage to old arcade classics like Outrun and Pole position. I feel like a kid again when I listen to the soundtrack, it's just amazing.

Hot Lap League: Racing Mania!

If you're in the market for a new racing game, Lap Hot League is the one for you. The vibrant, over-the-top tracks, cheering crowds, and high-speed fervor are all reminiscent of playing with Matchbox cars and Hot Wheels as a child.

If you want to dominate its 150+ tracks, you need a fair amount of skill. As they power slide and boost their way to victory, players have the option of choosing between tilt controls or tap controls. Racing against other players' ghosts, competing in time trials, completing daily events and challenges are some of the things you can do to test your skills.

The graphics are great, the audio design is realistic, and all of this is without any ads messing with the experience. New cars can be unlocked and customized, of course, but all cars are the same, so this isn't a pay to win situation.

There are a few in-app purchases that are related to additional cosmetic options in Lap Hot League. The experience is very close to what you would expect from a console or PC racer.

Motorsport Manager Mobile 3

If you wanted to manage the racers, what would that be like? That's what Motorsport Manager Mobile 3 does. You build your racing team from the ground up and compete in international events to be the best. You are in charge of everything from hiring the drivers to updating the cars.

The name of the game is strategy, with you trying to have the most efficient pit stop. You will need to be prepared for crashes. You have to see the whole picture of what goes into a given race in order to play it.

With the challenge constantly evolving to meet your increasing skills, Motorsport Manager Mobile 3 promises less high-octane action than some of the other games on this list, but still offers an excellent experience that makes you excited to manage a racing team.

Need for Speed™ No Limits

Need for Speed, one of the oldest racing game franchises still going strong, has a pretty awesome mobile game out there with Need for Speed No Limits. With gorgeous graphics, lots of cars and customizations, and options for both touch controls and tilt controls, Need for Speed No Limits is sure to satisfy theAdrenaline junkie in all of us.

The game revolves around winning races to get cash, building your reputation on the street, and upgrade your cars to be tricked-out monsters. There is a steady stream of events that the development team keeps going.

It's free with in-app purchases. Many players complain that the prevalence of IAPs makes it nearly impossible to acquire more parts for cars if you just play the game. IAPs can be disabled as a standard setting, which makes it a safer option for parents with young racers.

Nitro Nation: Car Racing Game

It's hard to believe that I haven't heard of Nitro Nation before because it's very popular. I decided to give it a try and immediately knew that it needed to be on this list, because it was coming from a person who doesn't like racing games.

It's almost overwhelming that there's so much to do in Nitro Nation, lots of cars to aspire for, tuning, cosmetics tounlock, and more. Without the usual nonsense of energy systems, wait times for upgrades, or anything like that, you can focus on enjoying the game. I believe you will like this one.

Rally Fury: Extreme Racing

CSR Racing and GRID Autosport are cousins of Rally Fury: Extreme Racing. If you've played the other great racers in the genre, then this racer is an excellent choice.

There is a nice level of nuance to keep the game interesting. You will need to hone your steering, drifting, and boosting with either touch screen or motion controls. It doesn't lean into the one-touch racing concept because it's been kicking around for a long time. If you're like me, you might need some practice with the touch screen controls.

Even though it's been around for a while, Rally Fury got another update this summer. A variety of tracks, an upbeat soundtrack, and killer audio effects can be found in the game. It probably shouldn't be a goal, but it's fun to crash into trees and see how bad you did.

There aren't many negatives to Rally Fury, but customization is a little lackluster and there aren't a lot of unlocked cars compared to other racers. I don't think most players will want to spend real money on this game.

By racing and playing the game, you can earn a lot of money to purchase and upgrade your cars without spending a dime. You can play the base version of the game for free if you want to get the best experience.

Real Racing 3

Hardcore gearheads will love Real Racing 3, a mobile racing game. It puts real brand-name cars on real-world tracks and has an interesting asynchronous system whereby lap times are recorded from your friends and you race against a bot that's driving at that time.

You can change their track time, and there is a single-player career worth playing through too. You'll have to keep your ride in good condition to avoid repair costs if you don't take it easy on your car, as players can upgrade various mechanical bits with their winnings.

There will be a lot of microtransactions on offer, including three different in-game currencies, to accomplish other things. It's a typical move by the company, and sours an otherwise enjoyable game for me.

Riptide GP: Renegade

Riptide GP: Renegade is a jet ski racing franchise that is available on the internet. The story-driven career mode is reminiscent of games like Jet Moto or Wave Race 64. Water and motion blur effects give the game a sense of speed.

It's not ideal to use tilt-steering to control your hydro jet, but it's supported and makes things easier. One key aspect of the game is the ability to pull off insane stunts, which are easy to do with quick swipings.

There's a lot to be unlocked and upgraded as you play through the career mode, which is a real challenge compared to other racing games. It's important that you have a good phone to handle the graphics and game play, as well as a good TV box to play it on.

Top Speed 2: Drag Rivals

The sequel to Top Speed takes things to a whole new level. It comes with a lot of customization and racing options. It's a racing game that packs in a lot of what you'd expect, with the only downside being that it's free to play.

In the game, you are a disgraced cop who gets into drag racing. The story is next to the racing action, which makes it sound weird. You want to be the best driver in the city and you have a lot of cars to pick from.

There is some good vehicular customization in Top Speed 2. In-app purchases can be found here. Money will be spent on "refueling", loot boxes for car parts, and upgrades for your cars. The game is a lot of fun.

Crossing the finish line

Racing games are one of the more competitive genres to try and "best-ify" on a mobile device. There are hundreds of good racing games out there that didn't make the list, and new games coming out all the time to give the leaders of the pack a run for their money.

It's as good as it gets on mobile for classic racing. If you've played any of the last car-focused racers out there, then Riptide GP: Renegade is for you.

Get out there and destroy the tarmac.

The Hot Tap League was added to our list.
