The US Department of Justice made a big move in the investigation into the police raid that resulted in the death of Breonna Taylor. Four former and current Lousiville cops have been charged with crimes. Civil rights offenses and others are included in the charges. According to a report, Hankison fired his weapon into Taylor's apartment through a window and a glass door. In an attempt to escape responsibility for their roles in preparing the warrant affidavit that contained false information, ex-Detective Joshua Jaynes, Detective Kelly Goodlett, and Sergeant Kyle Meany were charged with submitting a false affidavit. In March of 2020 officers shot and killed the emergency room technician after storming Breonna's apartment in a forced entry. The charges against Hankison were later dropped.
