Chris Christie thinks there will be less than a dozen Republicans running for president.
He thinks Donald Trump, Mike Pence, Ted Cruz, and Tom Cotton are the best candidates.
The decision comes down to supporting the whole country or appeasing one man.
Chris Christie said the top of the next GOP ticket will probably feature Donald Trump, former Vice President Mike Pence, Sen. Ted Cruz, or maybe a half dozen others.
I think it will be between six and eight. The future of the Republican Party will be a topic of discussion, according to the former New Jersey Governor.
The Texas Republican Trump trounced the Arkansas Republican Cotton in the 2016 presidential contest, as well as the disgraced former president and the Trump-appointed Secretary of State.
Other possible candidates include the governors of Florida and Virginia. Christie made the rounds with other GOP leaders trying to wrest control of the party from Trump, but he left himself off the list.
Trump has yet to make a formal announcement that he's running again. While Trump fumes about his loss to Joe Biden, others can float their own agendas, including Rick Scott's provocative "Rescue America" plan.
Christie warned that Trump's "party of me" mentality isn't a winning formula when he was stumping for Kemp. Christie said that they need to be the party of tomorrow. During a rally for Kemp in Georgia, Pence said that elections are about the future.
Kemp faced a primary challenge from the former senator David Perdue, who was dragged out of retirement by Trump to punish Kemp for not backing his baseless 2020 election- fraud claims. Kemp defeated Perdue by a large margin.
