The PittsburghSteelers and Diontae Johnson have agreed on a contract extension.

According to Mike Garafolo, the wide receiver will be paid $36.71 million over the next two years.

Johnson can make up to $37 million and is guaranteed $27 million, according to Adam.

Johnson was in the final year of his contract. He can become a free agent after the 2024 season if he earns $2.79 million in the next two years.

The 25-year-old wasn't making a big deal about his extension negotiations, despite the fact that many wide RECEIVERS SIGNED NEW CONTRACTS.

Johnson told reporters during organized team activities in June that he could only move forward and control what he could. I would like to be here." I'm willing to wait. I will continue to work. I'm not going to pay attention to that because my agent is going to do what he does.

The hold-in was Johnson. While trying to get a new deal, he wasn't participating in practices.

Six of the top 10 receiver contracts in the NFL were signed this year. The players signed deals worth at least $100 million.

By the time he becomes a free agent, Johnson could be on the same level as those players. Every season of his career, he has increased his receiving-yardage total.

The Toledo product had a good season last year, finishing with 106 catches for 1,161 yards and eight scores. He had more catches than Chase Claypool.

There are a lot of questions about Pittsburgh's offense. If Kenny is able to beat out Mitchell Trubisky in training camp, the team will be very happy.

Johnson's production and talent should make him the go-to target for whoever is starting at quarterback. The team won't have to worry about finding a No. 1 receiver in the foreseeable future.
