The internet is divided over Eternals, the blockbuster superhero film directed by Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao, out of all the movies. There was a lot for fans to take in, with a bit of a bonkers plot, an ensemble of 10 new superhero, and convoluted MCU-ification of the timelines. The actor who played Pip the troll in Eternals has good news for fans of the show.
When Oswalt was asked about his place in the Marvel Universe, he was able to talk about Starfox, the character he plays. He casually mentioned that there was an announcement about a sequel to Eternals and that it was going to be directed by Chlo Zhao. He hopes there will be more adventures for Starfox and Pip.
There hasn't been an announcement about an Eternals sequel until Oswalt mentioned it. It would have been announced along with the Phase 5 and Phase 6 schedule at this year's San Diego Comic-Con if it were in the immediate plans of the studio. Phase 5 kicks off with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Phase 6 begins with Fantastic Four and ends with Captain America: New World Order. Eternals 2 is one of the movies that could come in the next four years, and it's possible that there will be more in the future.
Eternals was not normal. It wasn't enough for Zhao's fans and it wasn't enough for the fans of the comic book company. The scope of the movie, and its ambitions, but felt like it was overladen with explanations, workarounds, and world-building that seemed to undermine what I already know. The first Eternals film was forced to make over the course of 10 new superhero, plus two alien entities, in order to introduce them to the rest of the world. Thank you, I would like to see more of the two of them as superheros.
