It is possible for businesses to put important information near the top of their accounts with the new feature. The new location spotlight feature allows businesses to add information like store hours and address, as well as a quick tap option to contact them via phone or social media.

It could be simpler for customers to decide if there is enough time to walk three blocks for coffee before a shop closes. If the Pandemic has taught us anything, it is that information is not always up to date.

Part of a broader business-centric feature set Twitter has been working on

Businesses had to adjust hours at an instant to comply with local laws or to protect their workers, so social media became the defacto way to know what a business's status was Where businesses could quickly connect with their customers was provided by places likeInstagram andTwitter.

The About Module was only available to a limited number of professional accounts. It is now known as location spotlight and is available for businesses with professional accounts on social media. It is part of a larger feature set that includes the new Shop Module that allows some brands to sell items within the service, as well as other features.

There are other services in the works. The company is going to start running training sessions on how to use its platform, as well as an upcoming feature to track performance.

Follow the steps on your phone if you want to add location spotlight to your account.

  • Go to your Profile in the Twitter app, and tap on Edit profile.
  • On the bottom, tap Edit professional profile. (You’ll only see this if you already have a professional account.)
  • You’ll see a section called “Profile Spotlight,” which you’ll need to tap.
  • Tap on the Location toggle switch, then enter your business address, hours, website, and contact information. (This will be publicly displayed on your Twitter account page.)
  • Once you have everything entered accurately, tap Publish in the upper-right corner. Customers now have access to all the information you provided, a clear indication if you’re open or not, and are one tap away from getting directions or contacting you.

An earlier version of the article stated that the About Module is now part of location spotlight. They are the same thing. We apologize for the mistake.
