The eight-episode tale that weaves between the outbreak of a world-ending virus and a zombie-strewn near-future is packed with shocks and twists.

We have been left with a lot of questions.

With the end of the series, various characters' fates are left hanging in the balance, some motives are unclear, and there are gaps between the two timelines. We hope that if Season 2 gets the go-ahead, we'll be able to answer some of the bigger questions we were left with.

1. What happened to poor old Bert?

Jade Wesker tells her sister about their father's death when they are together. "Died asking for you" is what she said. Albert's clone, Reddick, is the one who helps the girls escape Umbrella's HQ when they're both still teenagers, in the last episode of the series. What happened to the poor man when the Jade and Billie called their dad? Is he able to enjoy some freedom for a bit? What was the cause of his death? Those details are going to be important for us.

2. What was the deal with the original Albert Wesker?

Albert Wesker wasn't all that nice, and he looked like an extra in The Matrix, so we don't know much about him. What was his agreement with him? He was working on more than one experiment. What happened to him? He's an intriguing villain, and I'd love to see any future Resident Evil series look into his past.

3. How did child Billie turn into adult Billie?

The season finale shows that adult Billie is not all that nice. The transformation hasn't taken place when we last saw young Billie and young Jade. At this point, they're still on the same side, even though we get a hint of the future tension between the sisters in Jade's slightly icy reaction to Billie.

What happened to turn675316753167531675316753167531675316753167531 She told Jade that the virus inside her was a response to her selfishness, but surely there must have been some other events that pushed her over the edge as well?

4. And what exactly does adult Billie want?

In the closing scenes of the first season, Jade and her daughter are taken away in a helicopter by a group of soldiers. Is this the end game of the woman? Why would she want to hurt her?

We can take a good guess at this one, although we don't know for certain. It's obvious that she's gifted when Jade's partner tells her about her progress and when she plays the piano on the boat. It is possible that Billie wants to see how gifted she is, and that she will be monitored like Albert was when they were children.

What is her ultimate goal in this? Wouldn't it be better to work with Jade and the academics instead of against them?

5. Will Jade Wesker change her ways?

Jade Wesker is the hero of the series but she is also a liability when it comes to bringing zombies on boats full of peaceful academics. In the series finale, she is confronted with a pretty head-on by her sister, but where does her character go from here? Is she going to focus on getting her daughter back? She is making dangerous decisions in an attempt to understand the T-Virus' mysteries.

We hope it's the first one, but we think it might be the second.
