The New York Times reported on Wednesday that a former Trump lawyer was still trying to come up with a way to overturn the election in Georgia on Inauguration Day.

A detailed six-page memo was written by Eastman suggesting how then-vice president Mike Pence should overturn the vote in favor of Donald Trump.

The email that was obtained by The Times was sent to Rudy Giuliani. It was sent several hours after Biden was inaugurated.

The idea that their team could uncover voter fraud in Georgia was pitched to Giuliani.

A lot of us have staked our reputations on the claims of election fraud and this would be a way to gather proof.

"If we get proof of fraud on Jan. 5, it will likely also demonstrate the fraud on Nov. 3, thus vindicating President Trump's claims and serving as a strong bulwark against Senate impeachment trial," he said.

The appeal to help him to secure payment for the legal fees he had billed the Trump campaign for was included in the email. There were legal fees for working eight days in January 2021.

According to The Times, he might not have gotten his money.

Insider didn't get a response from Giuliani and Eastman. Insider has not been able to verify the authenticity of the email.

The Justice Department obtained a search warrant for the phone of someone close to Trump.

The phone was seized by the FBI. The January 6 panel investigating the Capitol riot was the subject of a lawsuit.

The panel said that Eastman asked Giuliani if he could be put on the pardon list after the Capitol riot.

According to sources, Trump may be looking to distance himself from Eastman in the wake of the increased scrutiny the latter faced from the January 6 panel.
