Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports reported that the Big Ten was looking at the worthiness of adding a quartet of Pac-12 teams.

Industry sources have said that the Big Ten is not interested in adding California, Oregon, and Washington. The rightsholders were not willing to pay the same amount as the Big Ten schools.

Notre Dame, which has an open invitation, is one of the programs the Big Ten is trying to lure. Stakeholders now believe that the Fighting Irish will remain independent.

USC and UCLA will join the Big Ten in a couple of years.

Adding two powerhouse college sports programs in California will allow the Big Ten to expand its footprint to the West Coast. After adding USC and UCLA, the league doesn't have to expand any further.

The Big Ten and SEC will stand as a pair of super conferences in a few years time after Oklahoma and Texas join the mix.

What will happen to the Pac 12 without two of its most well-known programs? Although other conference schools are connected to other leagues, the conference revealed that it is looking into expansion.

Phil Knight, the founder of Nike, called other leagues on his alma mater's behalf.

The Big 12 and the Pac 12 were rumored to be joining forces, but the latter walked away from the table.

Unless the conference realignment carousel continues to move, the conference will have 10 teams in a couple years. It remains to be seen if the Pac 12 can add the same number of schools as the Big 12 did.
