The Dodgers wore a black patch with a microphone and "Vin" on it.

His 67-year career calling games in Brooklyn and Los Angeles made him the longest tenured analyst in sports history.

The Dodgers are out of town until Friday and will honor Vin Scully on that night.

The Dodgers and Giants lined up along the baselines to watch a video tribute to Vin Scully. The Angels held a moment of silence before their game against the A's.

Fans all over L.A. remembered and celebrated the man. He soothed them to sleep as a child.

George Esteves said that it was like listening to his favorite song on the radio all the time.

"He painted such a picture, you didn't need a TV,'' said a fan.

Kenneth Walls of South Los Angeles is the grandson of a 90-year-old man.

Walls said that he has been a part of his life since he was a baby. Sharing this moment with the fans is important. It's better to be in a happy mood for a long life.

The self-effacing Scully would have appreciated the tribute but would have found it a little bit embarrassing.

He didn't want to be in front of the game.

It is the end of an era. He is going to live forever and his legacy will.
