  • She said she is pregnant again after having 1 billion shots.

  • The model is pregnant with John Legend's child.

  • She said she was worried about sharing the news after losing a baby.

There is a baby on the way.

On Wednesday, the model shared her happy news with her followers on the social networking site.

The last few years have been a blur of emotions but joy has filled our home and hearts again.

The loss of a baby in September 2020 was a blow to the couple.

In her new post, she suggested that she and Legend used fertility treatments to have another child. Their first two children, Luna, 5, and Miles, 4, were conceived through in-house fertilization.

She said in the post that she was nervous to share the news after her terrible experience.

"After every appointment I've said to myself, 'Ok if it's healthy today I'll announce' but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I'm just too nervous still," the caption reads.

I don't think I'll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I'm feeling hopeful and amazing. It's been a long time since I've kept this in.

In February, she revealed that she was trying to get pregnant again. Eggs are fertilized in a lab before being transferred to the uterus. People with fertility issues can benefit from it.

She wrote in the caption of the post that she was "balls deep in another IVF cycle to save as many eggos as I possibly can." The shots make me feel like a doctor, but the bloat is a bitch.

The follower stopped asking if she was pregnant.

While I know it's said with good intentions, it just kind of sucks to hear that I'm not pregnant! Please don't ask people if they are pregnant. I would rather be the one to tell you and not a woman who will look you in the eyes and cry.

Miscarriage is common, but still stigmatized

The pair were "shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about" after the loss of their son.

The cookbook author was put on bed rest and hospitalized for severe bleeding after she became pregnant with her second child.

She wrote that bags and bags of blood were not enough to save the pregnant woman.

10% to 20% of pregnancies end in a loss before 20 weeks, and the rest end in a loss before the baby is born.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, stillbirth affects about one in 160 pregnant women. It's one of the most common negative pregnancy outcomes according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Less is known about the causes of stillbirth because they aren't tracked across hospitals and clinics.

Conception after pregnancy loss

Recovering from a loss can be similar to recovering from a baby's birth.

The mental and emotional impact of the body can last a long time. One study found 20% of women who experience a miscarriage have the symptoms of anxiety or depression, and for most, those symptoms last one to three years, affecting their quality of life.

According to the American Pregnancy Association, at least 85% of women who experience a loss of a baby do have a successful baby.

Less is known about the chances of a baby being born after a stillbirth, as only about half of couples who've had a baby are still pregnant.
