A resort in the Maldives is looking for a 'barefoot bookseller' to work there for a year — and stay for free in a villa that reportedly costs $36,500 a night

Someone with a love for reading and social media is needed to run a bookstore at a resort in theMaldives.

The pop-up bookshop in the Soneva Fushi resort is looking for someone to live and work for a year.

The job pays $750 a month, but the bookseller will live in a villa for free for the rest of the year.

Excellent written and verbal English skills are required in order to be considered. Interested people should know a lot about classical and modern literature and have previous experience with bookselling or publishing.

The barefoot bookseller should know how to follow social-media trends and run social pages. The Barefoot Bookseller social-media pages will be run by the bookseller, who will be responsible for sharing their experiences as a bookseller.

The bookseller is responsible for the sales and guest experiences at the bookshop.

Ultimate Library brought a pop up bookshop to the Soneva Fushi resort. There have been six people selling things.

Soneva Fushi is located on Kunfunadhoo island, which has a "no shoes, no news" rule, according to Time Out. The Baa atoll is a UNESCO recognized biosphere reserve.
