According to Nick Eatman of DallasCowboys.com, the Cowboys have signed Anthony Barr.

The deal is for $2 million but can go as high as $3 million.

The news of a deal was first reported by Mike Garafolo.

The Cowboys were considering all of their options for depth at the linebacker position, and Barr was one of them.

According to Clarence E. Hill Jr., Stephen Jones said last week that Barr was still an option for the Cowboys.

Jones said that the team wanted to get a good look at Cox and the other linebackers before making a decision on Barr.

The Cowboys were looking for more depth at the linebacker position due to the injury histories of Cox, who has missed time in the past with neck, knee, ankle and groin injuries.

Takk McKinley met with Jerry Jones on July 30 and was considered by the Cowboys. While Barr is ready to go, McKinley is still recovering from an injury.

Barr spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Vikings and earned four straight Pro Bowl selections.

He played in 11 games last year and made 72 tackles.

The 30-year-old will help fill out a group of linebackers in Dallas.
