As the Dallas Cowboys try to keep their star running back healthy, he won't play in any of the team's preseason games.

According to Jon Machota of The Athletic,Elliott has been playing football for two decades. I've been in the NFL for seven years. I've watched a lot of sports. I don't think I need a preseason game to prepare for the season.

The Broncos will be the first preseason opponent for the Dallas Cowboys, as well as the San Diego and Seattle teams.

After he revealed he played the 2021 campaign with a partially torn PCL, his health will be under scrutiny. He looked a bit slower than he did in the past.

The Ohio State product's career low was 58.9 rushing yards per game. He led the league in rushing yards per game in each of the first three seasons of his career.

He has three Pro Bowls, a First Team All-Pro selection and two seasons leading the league in rushing yards. He was playing at less than 100 percent last year, but still managed to surpass 1,000 yards on the ground and score 10 goals.

With him healthy and running well, the Cowboys may not have to worry as much about their aerial attack because he is healthy and running well.

The battle for more rushing attempts could be helped by the fact that Tony Pollard was more explosive at times in his career.

Pollard will get more chances during the preseason, but the starter will be the one who gets the most playing time once the season starts.
