Global fashion search platform Lyst has published its Q3 report of the world's top fashion brands. Top of the list was Off-White™, which climbed from second to first place.
Off-White™'s ascent comes while founder Virgil Abloh has been taking a break from fashion to focus on his health. Recently, the Chicagoan's brand made headlines after designing Hailey Bieber's bespoke wedding dress. The gown featured the Off-White™ logo and the words "WEDDING DRESS" spelled out in Abloh's signature style.
Balenciaga also climbed the rankings this quarter, rising from third to second place. Gucci on the other hand, dropped from first place to third, its lowest ranking in two years.
Also of note is the fact Bottega Veneta, now helmed by Daniel Lee, climbed 21 places in the rankings to enter the top 20 at 16. According to Lyst, searches for Bottega Veneta's padded sandals - the hottest women's shoes in the world right now - spiked 156 percent during September's SS20 fashion shows, where they were regularly worn on the front rows. Alexander McQueen and Loewe also rose in the rankings this quarter, and while it didn't crack the top 20, list, Jacquemus jumped 37 places.
On the product front, the Lyst report revealed Moncler's Bramant Puffer jacket was the hottest men's product, which is likely attributable to the plummeting temperatures. Elsewhere, Vilebrequin's octopus swim shorts ranked as the ninth hottest product, which proves the power of Jeff Bezos. The brand saw a 105 percent rise in page views this quarter after the Amazon billionaire was seen wearing them.
Lyst arrived at its conclusions after "[analyzing the online shopping behavior of more than nine million shoppers a month searching, browsing and buying fashion across 12,000 designers and stores online."
