Athletes competing at the highest levels of their respective sports at age 45 are rare.

Brady said in his announcement that he wanted to play until he was 45 and that there was some unfinished business to be taken care of. He wants to chase an eighth Super Bowl ring.

He will become the oldest starting quarterback in the history of the league when the season starts, and that's coming off a season in which he led the league in passing yards, completions and touchdown passes.

"This is not about me, it's about all of the people that have supported me to get to this point and I'm very thankful," Brady said. You can't take anything for granted, and I'm thankful to everyone who has played an important role.

One of those people is the tight end who won four Super Bowls with Brady. He's got it down, he takes care of himself better than anyone I've seen, and he can play forever. He can stay as long as he likes. I believe he can live until 50. Why don't you stop because he feels good from it?

The quarterback has everything, so Todd Bowles isn't sure what to give him on his birthday.

Each of Tom Brady's Super Bowl appearances has been covered in detail. You can watch Man in the Arena: Tom Brady on the Disney channel.

It's a great birthday if we keep him upright and walking.

Brady has thrived in his Hall of Fame career according to his position coach.

The way he throws a football at 45 is unbelievable to me. On a daily basis, I am amazed. I can't believe that thing comes off his hand every day. I'm astonished.
