At the camps, the quarterbacks were the focus. Fans were talking after Baker Mayfield hit on a deep ball in the Carolinas. The Philadelphia Eagles' Jalen Hurts had his most impressive day so far, as did the New York Giants' Daniel Jones and the New England Pats' Mac Jones.

Atlanta Falcons practices continue to be dominated by KylePitts. The New York Jets running back is showing off his skills. Brown Jr. practiced for the first time since he signed his contract.

The things are getting better. The person made a mark Tuesday. Who got hurt? The person had the most fun.

You need to know what to expect from the camps.

What our NFL Nation reporters saw today

For the second day in a row, Geno Smith and Drew Lock couldn't get the offense going.

Both quarterbacks had their moments, but weren't sharp overall. Smith threw a bad pick up when he was late on a deep ball to Tyler Lockett. Artie Burns was able to break up what should have been a touchdown after he underthrew the ball.

Lock finished practice strong with two touchdown passes. One of their failed attempts was due to a clear miscommunication between the two of them.

When asked when they would make a decision on their starting quarterback, Waldron said with a smile, "Denver." "We have a plan that we'll keep in-house," he said.

Lirim Hajrullahu and Jonathan Garibay are competing in a kicking competition. Garibay missed all three of his tries in the special situation portion of the work. He only made one attempt in his situational work.

Both kickers are 17-of-27.

Jerry Jones said that it was not a confidence builder to try them from 60 yards out. "I was joking and said, 'I just want to see them make extra points and kicks from the 20 and the 30.'

It took six practices for Lamar Jackson to make a mistake. Tony Jefferson tipped the ball to himself before pulling in Jackson's pick off.

John Harbaugh didn't know how he got a hand on that ball.

Jackson had his best day of the summer on that day. He completed 15 of 19 passes and had a drop on a deep throw

During the team's 11-on-11 drills, Poyer injured his elbow while tackling Cook. According to a source, he will be out for a few weeks. Poyer walked out of the locker room with his left arm in a shirt. Hyde is recovering from aglute injury. He hasn't been able to participate in practice due to the injury. Injuries have opened up opportunities for backups. With Poyer out, Johnson got more chances Tuesday, but it will be a competition to watch.

White tore his leftACL nine months ago. According to the athletic trainers, White is progressing well and they are excited about where he is.

When news came out that the Carolinas were interested in acquiring quarterback Baker Mayfield from the Cleveland Browns, wideoutRobbie Anderson sent out a "Noooooo" message. On Tuesday, teammates and fans said "ooh" over a play Anderson made with the former top pick. The veteran wide receiver hauled in the 50 yard strike from the 1s that was thrown to him.

Are you ready for the start of the game? If you want to play with your friends and family, sign up now. It's time to get started.

The Panthers haven't had a lot of exciting plays in a long time. Occasionally, you make mistakes. There was a two-minute drill late in the game. Although not by much, the day had to go to Mayfield over Sam Darnold, who was working with the 2's. The quarterback was 3-for-8 in the red zone. He was 6-for-8 with two touchdown and an intercept.

The battle to be the starting quarterback is too close to call, but coach Matt Rhule likes how Baker has picked up the offense He said that they test guys daily. His tests return in the hundreds. The man is a pros pro.

The Falcons knew Kyle would be a game-changer when they drafted him with the 4th pick. The difference in play from a year ago to now is noticeable.

Pitts is getting open for the quarterback on almost every rep because he is winning off the line of scrimmage. On Tuesday, the most noticeable was against Mykal Walker. After stopping for a short time, Pitts burst past Walker for an easy reception on a deep pass.

The Falcons have a lot of questions, but not all of them. He has been the most dominant player in the city. It may not be close.

The Philadelphia Eagles say that Hurts is getting hotter. It was the team's first day in pads, and Hurts had his best showing of the summer, highlighted by a 50-plus-yard dime to Reagor, who is "battling for a spot" on the team.

A laser was put over the middle to A.J. Brown. During one-on-ones, Hurts hit Smith down the left sideline and dropped it in over Bradberry. Over the past few days, the arrow has pointed up, with the injuries being up and down.

Daniel Jones had himself a day. This summer, his best. The margin was a good one. It's a good sign that the Giants' offense wasn't lighting it up early in camp as the players learned the new system.

The first-team unit and its quarterback have not performed well. On a day when Kenny Golladay sat out team drills, Jones went 16-of-20 with two touchdown and two picks. David Sills did a lot of the damage. Sills caught five passes in live drills, including a touchdown reception.

It felt good to be there. I think DJ has a good idea of where I will be. A trusting relationship for me.

Jones' numbers and the offense's performance would look and feel better if the late red zone pick up hadn't happened. It's still a great day.

It was the best day of camp for Davis Mills. Mills was 13-for 17 in team drills with two touchdown throws. He went 6-for6 with four touchdown passes. He led the Texans into scoring position after facing a fourth and 15.

With running back Michael Carter sitting out because of an ankle injury, the rookies got a chance to work with the first team. Hall was the one who got the most carries.

The biggest back on the team is Hall. In a 7-on-7 period, he made a diving catch. Carter will be pushed for playing time by him. Carter is listed on a daily basis.

After sitting out the first week of camp, the left tackle signed his one-year contract and practiced for the first time. Brown was put to work immediately as the Chiefs put him to work during a run-blocking period and a 1-on-1 pass- blocking drill. The team's acclimation plan for Brown involves him missing all of the team's practice as well as a conditioning session. The plan is to keep increasing his workload.

New Orleans Saints quarterback JameisWinston had one of his best plays of camp when he hit wide receiverDeonte Harty in stride for a touchdown of at least 50 yards in 11-on-11 drills.

One of the fastest players on the team is Harty, and he showed off his speed by easily beating Evans for the score. The starting safety, who has been excused from camp for personal reasons, hasn't returned yet.

Harty joked that he owed the quarterback a pass.

He was going to throw it there. He told me what to do and I did it.

He said he never lost stride with Jameis. I think his arm is strong.

The biggest change in Jordan Love compared to last year was visible Tuesday. He came back with his best performance of camp after throwing a practice-ending pick-six.

He may have tried to be safe last year. He came back firing even though he was under a lot of pressure. He didn't flinch and found his primary targets with two of his best throws of camp, a deep crosser to Sammy Watkins and a perfectly placed ball that the rookies caught in the back of the end zone.

Love thinks it shows growth. I couldn't make those throws under pressure when I first arrived.

Mac Jones capped off his practice with a touchdown throw to Nelson Agholor that sparked an offensive celebration, but Jones acknowledged the defense has had more success through the first six practices of camp

Jones said that losing the day is like a shot in the heart. Better days to come." We need to get it going because we are in the beginning.
