The American Airlines Boeing 737-800, came in from Miami on Monday night. It was scheduled to fly as American Airlines 2036 from New York LaGuardia to Charlotte on Tuesday morning. That didn’t quite happen.

The tug got caught under the plane. At the same time, it is amazing and cringeworthy. Everyone is okay. The tow driver was hospitalized as a precautionary measure. There were no people on the plane at the time.

A spokesman for American Airlines gives an offer.

Early this morning, an aircraft under tow at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) collided with a super tug operated by American Airlines personnel while being repositioned from the hangar to the gate. Safety is our highest priority, and we’ve launched an internal investigation to learn more.

The aircraft has been in the fleet for a long time. The tug was removed and the plane was moved to the hangar. The passengers were sent to a gate where the other plane was operating.

The Boeing plane is allowed to fly again. Southwest Airlines plans to get the plane back in the air in 4-5 months, but American Airlines is planning to get the plane back in the air much sooner.

While other airlines reduce their spending to conserve cash during the Pandemic, American has accelerated their capital spending to convert planes more quickly. This is the wrong product at the wrong time because planes with more seats are more popular.

American could have been in New York. The largest airline in the world doesn't seem to know what to do with the most important air city in the country. New York JFK is not served by them. The people don't...
