A good option for people with slightly older phones.

The repair program allows owners of the S20, S21, and Tab S7 Plus to buy replacement parts and access guides on how to fix their device. The program is not launching with parts for the latest flagship devices and there is a limited number of repairs you can do, but it is good to see that. The devices and repairs that are covered in the future will be expanded by the company.

You will be able to buy the parts and tools for screen, back glass, and charging port replacements through iFixit as well as atsamsung retail and service locations. You will get a return shipping label if you buy a display replacement kit.

Consumers will pay the same price for parts as repair providers do, according to the company. Jordan Guthmann shared a chart with prices that were subject to change. An S20 display assembly will cost $199.99, the back glass will cost $699.99, and the charging port assembly will cost $59.99. The display assembly and back glass for the S21 Ultra are the same price as for the S20.

But what about the battery?

The company doesn't say whether you'll be able to buy a battery replacement on your own. The press release states that a battery will be included in the replacement display assembly, but it won't do much for you if your phone doesn't hold a charge anymore. iFixit has instructions for the S20 and S21 battery replacement process, but you won't get an official part from SAMSUNG.

IFixit doesn't sell batteries for the S22 series of phones. Despite the fact that those phones came out in February, it is still not included in its partnership with SAMSUNG.

The latest big tech company to roll out a program that allows you to repair your devices at home is SAMSUNG. iFixit allows you to replace almost every piece of your steam deck, which is pretty much setting the bar for other repair programs, like Valve's. There have been a few issues with parts in stock. You can get pro-grade parts to replace your phone's battery, bottom speaker, camera, display, or Taptic Engine vibration motor, thanks to Apple's own do-it-yourself repair program.
