Jake Jarman became the most successful English male gymnast at a single Games when he won his fourth gold.

The number of golds won by Jarman was the same as the number of golds won by Fragapane in the same year.

Giarnni Regini-Moran was second in the vault.

Jarman surpasses the three Commonwealth titles won by MaxWhitlock in the same year.

Jarman was as composed as ever with two neat vaults and looked relieved after a difficult final effort, before celebrating with a delightedBirmingham crowd.

On his 24th birthday, Regini-Moran put in an assured performance but was not able to match his teammate.

After completing his second vault, he was rewarded with a happy crowd singing happy birthday.

Jarman was the only gymnast to attempt a vault with a 6.0 degree of difficulty and he pulled it off with ease.

He finished with a total score of 14.916, with Australia's James Bacueti taking third place with 14.283.

Both Wales and Northern Ireland had people finish in the top eight.

Eight golds have been won by England in the gymnastics competition.

The men's parallel bars, horizontal bar, women's balance beam and floor finals will all be on Tuesday's final day of competition.

Joe Fraser, who is still recovering from a broken foot, could yet match Jarman's haul as the Englishman goes in the parallel bars and horizontal bar finals having claimed the team and pommel horse golds.
