The Oura smart ring can now be used with Natural Cycles birth control. Natural Cycles users will be able to pull in temperature information from their Oura Ring instead of having to manually take a temperature each morning.

The days of the month when someone is least likely to get pregnant are predicted by Natural Cycles. The daily temperature data came from a measurement. The company received approval from the FDA to use temperature data from Oura.

After Natural Cycles received FDA approval, Oura Ring added a period prediction feature to its smart ring. The two companies didn't have a formal partnership, but Oura was aware of Natural Cycle's work.

The two companies are working on a project. According to Holly Shelton, senior vice president of consumer product at Oura, skin temperature data from the Oura Ring can detect important temperature changes during the menstrual cycle.

Natural Cycles includes temperature trends, heart rate, sleep duration, and sleep stages. The heart rate data will be used to determine if someone has consumed alcohol or other lifestyle changes. According to the statement, Natural Cycles doesn't give any information to Oura.

Oura has a partnership with the University of California San Diego to study the effects of hormones on pregnant women. According to research, the ring can detect a baby before it's even born.

Shelton said the partnership between Natural Cycles and Oura showed the power of technology to enable women to better understand and control their fertility.
