The woman told her that her gift wouldn't be ready until the next day, even though she wanted it gift-wrapping. Fishel said the woman refused to re-open the register because the store was slow, even though the store was supposed to close.
According to the actor and director, she told the employee to wrap it. You can give me the materials and I'll wrap it for me. Fishel went to the customer service department at Bloomingdale's and wrapped the gift herself.
Fishel was being watched by a manager. He praised Fishel's gift-wrapping skills after he chastised his employee.
She said that he looked at her and said "that's actually really good."
She said the manager gave her a card. She decided to apply after she thought about it. She got the job and worked with the girl who refused to wrap her gift.
Fishel said that she decided to stay at the store longer because she was good at customer service and gift-wrapping.

Fishel did get recognized by customers, but she didn't confirm who she was. She would simply say "yes" when customers asked if she looked like the girl from the show.
