Alex Jones bragged on his show about how his latest bankruptcy plan would slash defamation damages to Sandy Hook families and tie up the reduced amounts for years.

Free Speech Systems, Jones' co-conspirator in two defamation cases, filed for Chapter 11 protection. According to reports, Infowars made $65 million last year.

In Connecticut and Texas, Jones was found liable for defamation after he insisted that the 20 first- graders killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting were actors in a fake anti-gun stunt. Six people were killed.

A trial in Texas is determining the amount of damages Jones must pay.

Jones tried to use a bankruptcy case to force a monetary settlement with the Sandy Hook families, but was forced to drop it.

On his Sunday show, Jones claimed that his current bankruptcy filing would cut the bond he would have to post for an appeal to only half of his net worth. All we have is our credibility, he said.

Jones' money scheme was being played out during dramatic testimony over the pain and suffering of the Sandy Hook families, who not only grapple with the loss of their children in a mass shooting but also are forced to face harassment and death threats by Jones' fans who are weaponized by his lies.

The parents of the dead children suffer from both post-traumatic stress disorder and a constant fear that Jones followers will kill them.

The overwhelming cause of their pain is what Jones is doing.

Neil Heslin and the Lewis family lost their son in the massacre.

Lewis sleeps with a gun, knife and pepper spray at his bedside, and he has been accosted by people on the street.

Lawyers for families said that they are not giving up on the fight.

Chris Matei, a Connecticut lawyer, said that Jones "has once again fled like a Coward to the bankruptcy court in a transparent attempt to delay facing the families that he has spent years hurt."

Lawyers raised concerns in court about the structure of Jones' latest move, and his timing.

Free Speech Systems wants a type of bankruptcy protection that will allow small businesses to get through insolvency quickly. The companies that owe less than $7.5 million are usually the ones targeted. According to the latest lawsuit against Alex Jones, the parent of the Infowars is claiming more than $50 million of debt.

A lawyer involved in a fraudulent transfer lawsuit against Jones and Infowars said at the Chapter 11 hearing that there are a lot of red flags surrounding the case. This is a large business.

The attorney representing the Sandy Hook families in one of the defamation suits expressed serious concerns at the hearing based on discovery done in Connecticut that Alex Jones has been swindling large amounts of money out of Free Speech Systems

As of May 31, Free Speech Systems had $14.3 million in assets, which included almost $1.16 million in cash and close to $1.6 million in property and equipment. There was a $54 million debt to be paid by the company.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has reported that Jones was the beneficiary of a secret angel who gave him about $6 million worth of the coin in May.

Jones will face a jury in Connecticut in September. The jury selection process started this week.

Jones is being investigated for his role in planning events prior to the Capitol storming.
