The Wall Street Journal reported Monday that Estée Lauder is in talks to purchase Tom Ford for $3 billion.
The potential Tom Ford deal would be the largest acquisition yet for Estée Lauder, a publicly traded company with a market cap of over 96 billion that is home to popular cosmetics brands.
According to the Journal, Estée Lauder is interested in Tom Ford Beauty, which it has a licensing agreement with, as well as looking to license the clothing brand to other companies.
The Journal did not list any other potential buyers for Tom Ford.
Tom Ford hired Goldman to explore a possible sale, according to sources.
