Robinson Cano was designated for assignment by the Atlanta Braves on Monday, a day after he was acquired by the Washington Nationals.

Over the course of 31 games this season, Adrianza was hitting.179 with seven runs. Adrianza, who played last season for the Braves and led major league baseball with 16 pinch hits, was traded to the Nationals by the team.

In nine games with the Braves, Cano hit.154 with one home run and one stolen base.

In El Paso, the Padres' Triple-A affiliate, the 39-year-old had been hitting.333 with three home runs. He hit just.091 in 34 plate appearances for the Padres in the majors.

The New York Mets parted ways with Robinson after he hit just.150 with a home run and four RBIs in 43 plate appearances. He was suspended for the second time for violating MLB's policy on performance- enhancing drugs.

Robinson is hitting.150 with one home run in 104 plate appearances.

Albies fractured his foot in June and is still out. The Braves have relied on Arcia to replace him.

During Atlanta's run to a World Series championship, Adrianza appeared in 10 playoff games, batting.333 with five home runs and 28 runs scored. The Braves are in second place in the NL East, behind the first place Mets. The first wild-card spot in the NL is occupied by them.

Harris was hitting.235 with two home runs and 16 runs for Mississippi.

The original 10-year, $240 million contract he signed with the SeattleMariners is still owed by the Mets.

In his 17-year career, the eight-time All-Star has a.301 average, 335 home runs and 1,306 strikeouts.
