India reported its first death from monkeypox on Monday, marking the fourth death during this outbreak in countries that haven't previously witnessed it.

Indian officials told reporters that a 22-year-old Indian man died in the south of the country after traveling to the U.A.

As of last Friday, 5,189 cases of monkeypox and orthopoxviruses had been reported in the U.S.

The epicenter of the U.S. outbreak is New York, with 1,345 cases as of July 29, according to the CDC.

After San Francisco declared a public health emergency last week, the decisions came.

A total of 22,141. According to the CDC, there have been 72 cases of monkeypox reported in 72 countries that have not previously reported them.

At least five people have died this year from monkeypox, the first series of deaths to occur outside of Africa, after Spain and Brazil reported two deaths. There are several countries in Africa where monkeypox is endemic. The current global outbreak of monkeypox may cause people with it to experience symptoms that are not normally associated with the disease. The disease can cause a lot of symptoms. Public health officials have taken steps to avoid language that might stigmatize gay and bisexual men because most of the monkeypox cases have been identified among men who have sex with men. Two weeks ago, the World Health Organization declared the disease a public health emergency due to the increase in infections around the globe. The U.S. has been trying to ramp up its vaccine distribution in recent weeks after some states complained about a shortage.

What To Watch For

There is more vaccine. Last week, the Department of Health and Human Services said it would release another 786,000 doses of the Jynneos monkeypox vaccine. Government responses to the growing outbreak may be streamlined by state and city emergency declarations.

The first monkeypox deaths outside Africa were reported by Brazil and Spain.

Monkeypox is a global health emergency.

The first monkeypox death in Asia is confirmed by India.

The city of New York has declared a public health emergency.
