  • There is a chance of a military response if Pelosi goes to Taiwan.

  • Reports say Pelosi will visit Taiwan despite security concerns.

  • In the last few years, tensions between the US and China have gone up.

China warned again of a possible military response if Pelosi goes to Taiwan.

The Chinese side has made it very clear to the US side that Pelosi's visit to Taiwan will lead to serious consequences. "If you play with fire, you'll set yourself on fire," he said.

"We would like to warn the US again that China is standing by, and the Chinese People's Liberation Army will never sit idly by and will take strong measures to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity," he said.

China regards Taiwan as Chinese territory and has made it clear that it will view Pelosi's visit as a sign of support for the island's independence. She would be the highest-ranking US lawmaker to visit Taiwan in 25 years, and her presence on the island would carry a lot of symbolic weight.

Pelosi wouldn't say if she will go to Taiwan as she travels to countries across Asia this week. CNN reported on Monday that Pelosi is expected to visit.

Under the One China policy, the US does not support Taiwan's independence and does not have formal diplomatic relations with Taipei, but the US still has a strong relationship with Taiwan.

The US has a policy of strategic ambiguity when it comes to the question of whether it will respond to a Chinese attack on Taiwan. Washington has been vague on the topic. President Joe Biden has been accused of confusing the policy by suggesting that the US would come to Taiwan's defense. The comments made by Biden were walked back by the White House.

The Biden administration's position on whether Pelosi should go to Taiwan has been waffled on. The military doesn't think it's a good idea for Pelosi to go to Taiwan. The White House said that it would provide Pelosi with support if she went to the island.

When she travels overseas, we want to make sure that she can do so safely and securely. There is no reason for the Chinese language to be offensive. There is nothing to be done. It is not uncommon for congressional leaders to travel to Taiwan, according to John Kirby.

'There's a risk of an accident'

The experts warned that Pelosi's visit to Taiwan could lead to a military crisis in the region.

Bonnie Glaser is a leading China expert and director of the Asia program at the German Marshall Fund of the United States.

If Chinese military aircraft entered Taiwan's air defense identification zone, Taiwan would scramble its own fighters. There are reports that the Pentagon may call on US warplanes and ships to provide additional security near Taiwan if Pelosi visits.

It's not likely that there would be a shooting, but it's possible that an accident could happen.

The People's Liberation Army Air Force has many different type of fighter jets that are able to circle and surround the precious island of our motherland, according to the Air Force spokesman.

He said that China's air force has the ability to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
