One traveler pays more for a few breakfast sandwiches than his flight.

Several McDonald's breakfast sandwiches were found in a traveler's luggage and they were fined 2,664 Australian dollars.

Insider asked for comment from Australian authorities, but they didn't reply.

Two egg and sausage McMuffins and a ham croissant were identified by a dog at the airport, according to local news. There was a passenger on the trip.

The individual was fined a few days after Australian authorities tightened security to deal with an outbreak of foot and mouth disease in Indonesia. The minister told 7NEWS that the food was destroyed after being inspected.

Australian authorities say that the virus can be carried on clothing and food. Cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs are at risk of being affected by the disease.

According to experts, an outbreak of the disease could cost the country 80 billion dollars. Travelers who don't declare dairy and meat products on July 22 will be fined.

Watt said he had no sympathy for people who chose to carry a variety of risk items.
