  • Pat Toomey clashed with Jon Stewart over a healthcare bill for veterans.

  • People in DC sneak things into bills and use pseudo-celebs to blast their opponents.

  • Stewart said he would rather be a pseudo celeb than a senator.

On Sunday, Pat Toomey criticized "pseudo-celebrities" after he was called out by Jon Stewart for voting against a veterans healthcare bill.

The bill would expand healthcare for veterans exposed to toxic burn pits and who have an increased risk of developing cancer and respiratory health issues

Stewart has addressed the issue of veteran healthcare before congress. Stewart said after the PACT Act was rejected that it was corruption at its finest. These are the people who defended their right to fight.

When the bill failed, Stewart called Toomey a " fucking coward", as well as calling him a number of other derogatory names.

Lawmakers tried to sneak in unrelated items into the bill, according to the man who voted for it.

This trick has been performed in Washington for a long time. A sympathetic group of Americans could include children with an illness, victims of crime, veterans who have been exposed to toxic chemicals, and so on and so forth.

"Because they know, they'll unleash their allies in the media and perhaps a pseudo-celebrity to make up false accusations to try to get us to swallow what shouldn't be there."

The former host of "The Daily Show" circumvented the lawmaker's insult with a pair of ironic posts.

I would rather be a celebrity than a senator. Stewart penned a letter.

Stewart said that Sen Toomey never called for spending caps on the war. It's interesting to see the priorities.

Stewart called out Sen. Ted Cruz over his vote against the veteran's healthcare bill with a video posted to the social networking site. Cruz said the bill was a budget trick.
