I booked a private cabana at the Disney water park. Megan duBois
  • I rented a cabana for a day at the water park.

  • It was worth it because of the service, hang-out space, and perks.

  • I've been to the Disney water parks for a long time and the cabana made the day a lot easier.

I have been to the water parks at Disney World a few times.

My family and I decided to go for a swim at typhoon lagoon.

It took some patience to book the cabana before my trip

I booked a beachcomber shack for my group to stay in.

I had to call and wait for almost three hours because Disney's reservation center couldn't be reached through the website or app.

The person who helped me get my group booked was very helpful.

I went with a standard beachcomber shack that can hold up to 10 people. Admission to the water parks is not included in the cabana rates.

When my family and friends arrived at Typhoon Lagoon, check-in for the cabana was easy

We found the check-in for the cabana rentals when we walked through the main gate.

The employee asked me to confirm the number of people. She returned with a bag full of wristbands, plastic mugs, and park maps after walking away.

I was told where to go to relax.

My cabana was just steps away from the wave pool, the lazy river, and a drink machine

The beachcomber shack 7 was steps away from the wave pool and one of the entrances to the river.

There were five adults and a child who all wanted to do different things in the same location.

The park has many Coca-Cola machines. I didn't have to go far to refill my mug when it ran low.

Each cabana has a multitude of amenities

I was surprised by the size of the room.

There was an extra lounge chair for the child in our group.

Everyone in the group had their own space, but the rest of the group could still talk to each other.

The chairs had two towels with them.

One small table and a large table were used for food and drinks at lunchtime.

The cooler was filled with ice and water. We were able to keep our belongings in the large locker above the cooler.

Our cabana host was superb

Groups are entitled to a cabana host who can bring more towels and water and answer general water- park questions. Food, snacks, and cocktails can be delivered to the cabana.

Shortly after we arrived, our host introduced herself. She told us that if she wasn't around we could text her.

I was sad to leave at the end of the day because her service was great. We really wanted to tip our host, but they don't allow it since they provide a specialized service.

I was able to order lunch for everyone via text

I was able to text our host what we wanted to buy when my group was ready to eat. Each cabana has an exclusive menu that includes family-style food.

Both of the bowls we ordered came with a variety of ingredients.

After my mom and I ate our lunch, we put it all on a large table under the roof of our house. Everyone was able to build their own bowl and go back to their lounger to eat.

We didn't have to ask our host to bring more napkins, plasticware, plates, and a garbage bag.

Before packing up, I knew we needed to share a birthday-cake sundae

The biggest highlight of the day was getting a huge birthday-cake sundae delivered to the cabana.

A base of sliced birthday cake is loaded with soft serve, sprinkles, waffle cone pieces, hot fudge, caramel sauce, and a cherry.

We were able to split the ice cream because our host brought extra spoons and cups.

It was a great treat to finish the day.

I spent about half the day in the cabana

Half of the day was spent in the water and the other half in the cabana, where my group spent most of their time.

It was a good mix of time, and I felt that we maximized the time we had to get the most for our money.

The lazy river was the place where the most time was spent in the water. We saw cars parked on curbs and in the overflow grass parking lot at the water park, which was new to me.

After experiencing the cabana life, I never want to do a Disney water park without one

I'm excited to return to the cabanas. Megan duBois

It was worth it for my group to go to the Beachcomber shacks at typhoon lagoon.

We saved a lot of money and time. We didn't have to buy all of the things separately for six people because of the towel, water bottles, and locker included with our cabana.

Being close to the water and not having to wait in lines for food or drinks made this an ideal situation for my group.

When I go to Typhoon Lagoon with a large group, I'll probably book another cabana because our experience was great.
