Chris Matei, a lawyer for the families, said in a statement that Mr. Jones had fled like a "cougar to bankruptcy court in a transparent attempt to delay facing the families that he has spent years hurting."
The right-wing podcaster was found liable for defamation last year after he insisted that the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims were acting as part of a fake anti-Semitic conspiracy.
Families had to deal with harassment and death threats from Jones' fans.
A defamation trial began last week in Texas, where Infowars is located, and this week in Connecticut. The parent company of Jones'Infowars was declared bankrupt last Friday. He signed a petition to protect his co-conspirator in the defamation cases.
Earlier this year, Jones tried to force a restrictive monetary settlement with the Sandy Hook families by declaring bankruptcy for his companies.
