It was the first time in seven years that a pitcher in the same season had a no-hitter and an perfect game.

The Rangers and the San Francisco Giants were the only teams to have three perfect frames against them in the same season. Texas was shut out in the same game by Houston.

After striking out three Texas hitters on nine pitches in the second, he became the first pitcher in baseball history to throw a no-hitter.

The left-handed Detmers were able to strike out three of them. This is the fourth time in the majors that this has happened.

The first team to do it twice in the same game was the Rangers, who did it in the second and seventh frames.

According to MLB.com, it's the first time a player has been in all three of the Rangers' games.

Since his no-hitter, he has been struggling. He was sent to Salt Lake before being recalled.

Houston's Mike Fiers did a no-hitter and a flawless double in the same year.

It is only the third time in the history of the Angels that they have done that. Nolan Ryan was the first to do it on July 9, 1972, against Boston.

It's not as rare as it used to be. This is the 61st and 10th in the last 15 years. From 1929 to '52, there were no recordings.
