The England team scored in extra time against Germany in the Euro 2022. It was :56

In the women's European Championship final, England ended their wait for a major trophy by defeating Germany.

A record-breaking crowd of 87,192 watched as England went ahead through substitute Ella Toone before being held back by Germany.

LaLiga, MLS, FA Cup, and more are in the guide.

The Lionesses' first major tournament triumph and England's first for men or women since 1966 came after Kelly came on as a substitute.

It was no surprise that England's manager named the same starting XI for a sixth game in a row, the first time that has happened in men's or women's Euro history.

Popp, Germany's top scorer, was pulled from the starting lineup before the game even started because of a muscular problem. She was replaced by a new person.

That gave England a boost, and they almost had the perfect start when Ellen White headed in a cross from Fran Kirby.

Germany had a chance to go ahead in the 25th minute after a goalmouth scramble. England keeper Mary Earps claimed to see off the threat from Marina Hegering. The VAR check for a handball came up empty.

White had a chance to put England in front in the 38th minute when she latched on to a through ball, but she shot over the bar.

Tabea Wassmuth was brought on for Jule Brand at the start of the second half.

The change gave Germany renewed purpose, and they fired a warning shot in the 50th minute after a clever turn in the box by Magull, who missed the target.

Toone and Russo were sent on to save the day. It was Toone who opened the scoring for England in the 62nd minute, running onto a fine through ball from Walsh before hitting the back of the net.

In the 66th minute, Magull darted into the box and Germany almost tied the game. Her right-footed shot clanged off the bar before she could get the rebound.

She made the difference in the 78th minute. Magull side-footed home at the near post after Wassmuth sent a cross into the area.

After Toone's shot was turned away, Kelly sent England into dreamland with a goal in the 112th minute. The Manchester City forward stabbed in the rebound after first shooting at the other. Kelly ripped off her shirt and celebrated wildly.
