The internet flipped out this week after a marketing firm dropped a report that said Taylor Swift and her private jet are the worst celeb CO2 emission offenders.
Celebrity Jets used publicly available data to create a list of the 10 worst climate change contributors. Basic flight information like time spent in the air is included in the bot's updates.
According to Yard, Swift's jet has flown over 200 times and spent over 22 thousand minutes in the air so far this year. She has an average flight time of 80 minutes and her total flight emissions are more than the average person's annual emissions.
"Taylor Swift says she wants to run away to the lakes and live out the rest of her life surrounded by nature and then being responsible for 8923 tonnes of carbon emissions is not serious," a netizen joked Friday.
Swift's team immediately responded.
Taylor's jet is lent out frequently to other people. Yesterday's news in a statement. Most or all of the trips to her are incorrect.
Climate disaster looms ever closer, but there's hope for a better jet-setting future. Swift might be interested in a new, eco-friendly jet fuel being produced from water, sunlight and CO2
