Don't expect Kevin to sit out the 2022-23 season because he's not happy with the Brooklyn Nets.

According to NBA insiders, Durant is not wired to sit out like Ben Simmons did last season.

Simmons refused to play for the 76ers after requesting a trade and not being given a deal before the season. He missed the rest of the season because of a back injury after he was traded to Brooklyn.

It's been more than a month since Kevin Durant told the Nets governor that he wants to be traded. Brooklyn set a huge asking price for the 12-time All-Star and refused to give in to pressure to make a move immediately.

If the Nets don't find a trade by the time camp opens, it's almost certain that he'll report and perform his obligations. It's difficult to compare the situation to the Simmons-Sixers debacle because it was an unprecedented fall out.

Simmons lost $19 million just to not play for the 76ers again. There were concerns about the player's mental health, but it doesn't seem to be the case in the case of KD. The Nets would have a leg up if they wanted to force him to give up his salary if he sat out.

It's not likely that he'd be willing to ruin his reputation with a true holdout.
