Sky Sports pundits and reporters give their opinions on the showpiece final between England and Germany.

Carney: The time is now for England to win

Karen Carney is a pundit for Skysports.

We didn't win it in 2009, but we've been to three semi-finals now. Would it have made a difference if we'd gotten to finals in the past?

It's time for England to win it and there have been steps towards that.

"Everyone is watching us." We have all the broadcast deals in place, we are going to smash record-breaking viewing figures, record-breaking attendances, sponsors and all eyes are on the team.

Alessia Russo celebrates after scoring England Women's third goal against Sweden
Jamie Carragher describes Sarina Wiegman as 'a winner' and predicts that the Lionesses will lift the Euro 2022 trophy on Sunday

The time difference would have been a factor. I don't think we had all the attention we deserved. Would the investment be there to allow us to play at 5pm on a Sunday? The team needs to be ready to do it now that we have a place to do it in.

The two tactical teams that are in the final are the best of the best. Germany adapt and play against their opponents, but they still have their own style.

She's very well-drilled and organised and she was a serial winner as a player. It's a pleasure to watch Lena Oberdorf live. It's a pleasure to watchAlexandra Popp's journey as a fellow former player. You're attached to that.

Alessia Russo
Former Lionesses manager Phil Neville has praised the outstanding job done by his successor Sarina Wiegman in leading England to the final of Euro 2022

England has a weapon in SarinaWiegman. Georgia Stanway will be dropped deeper and Fran Kirby will be in the pockets of space if teams try to block her. Two fantastic wide players are on the bench.

The game is going to be taken to another level by the substitute players. Mary Earps has been a revelation on the defensive side of the ball. Everyone knows their responsibilities and we have the crowd with them.

There is something different about the England team. The subs can make more of a difference than the Germans.

The two teams that are in the final are the best. The tactics will be important for me because the players are fit and strong.

Sarina Wiegman talks to Leah Williamson during the game
Sky Sports' Sue Smith says England manager Sarina Wiegman has instilled her side with a genuine belief that they can win the tournament

Sue Smith is a Sky sports reporter.

It's time for some payback. There is a 50% game. Both sides are very defensive. Germany can win games in a variety of ways. They looked like they would win the game when they had no possession of the ball. They're a team that can adapt to different things because they have the ball.

One of our strengths is that we can as well. We have a way of playing that Sarina will stick with, but we can change it if necessary.

It's difficult to predict when we play Germany, whether it's men's or women's. I didn't beat them in my career but this group of players and the manager are capable of doing it.

"I'm pretty sure we're going to sneak it 2-1 in extra time and the crowd will help us out if we need it," he said.

Germany's Alexandra Popp is well aware of the historic rivalry between the two teams ahead of the Women's Euros final at Wembley on Sunday

Sky Sports has a reporter and a reporter for england.

The difference between this England team and others that have preceded them is that they focus on themselves. They know their strengths and won't be distracted by the opposition.

I have never seen a winning mentality in an England team before. There has always been international teams that have been in a better position, whether it be the structure they have in their domestic league, the players they brought through, or the fact that there is something to be afraid of.

The league we have is one of the best in the world and the players in it are also very good. It has taken a long time to get here, but everyone seems to be buying into it now. Everyone knows that England is one of the top teams.

The England team has been so calm inside the camp. They're all trying to make sure everyone stays on the level and perform at their highest so just looking at open training sessions and speaking to players afterwards has been a real demand of each other. Competition is high because they want to get the best out of one another.

The depth of squad has been even higher due to the consistent choice of the same starting XI byarina. The competition to come off the bench has been going on for a long time, we've seen it time and again with the fantastic goals she's gotten from off the bench.

England Lionesses
Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Philips , former England player Sue Smith and the public show their support for the Lionesses before their Euro 2020 final match against Germany

One of the highlights of the tournament has been seeing them together. They just wanted to bring out the best in each other. When you think about the Euros final, it's going to be serious, but they are telling little anecdotes, singing 'SweetCaroline' to some cameras, it's just been brilliant.

They have the freedom on the pitch but also the freedom off it. Everything has been thought about, not just for this tournament, but since Sarina came in.

"She has a plan all along and the backroom staff, when you see how they interact with the players, it is just one massive team and we get a really good vibe." It wasn't a surprise that they got to the final, they have each other's backs and they haven't got carried away. Their feet are on the floor.

The impact of this tournament will be felt for a long time. Being a home for the Euros makes it feel like a game-changing change.

The Duke of Cambridge, along with his daughter Princess Charlotte, leads the good luck messages for the England Lionesses backed up by Gareth Southgate and the England men's senior team

We've had front page news as well as back page news, continuous media coverage, fan zones, and Wembley is a sell out with more records to be broken.

I hope that will mean more people going to WSL games this season, more people watching the coverage, as well as supporting these Lionesses at club level, because these major tournaments are brilliant when they come around, but we need to make sure that

We need better quality of players being kept at clubs in the Championship and below so that we can feed the WSL, which is part of the issue at the moment with a lack of funding in that area.

There will be a big impact from this tournament. The Lionesses are role models for a lot of the younger generation now and it's just about capitalising on that. I believe that all the people in positions of responsibility can act and have success.

Marsh: England win, but they must start well

Sky Sports has a senior football journalist.

The 1966 team that won the World Cup could be made famous. This level of potential impact is being discussed. The impact on English football and the UK if they win the Euros is huge, but we don't know the full extent of it yet.

The English have a good mentality. Going into this tournament, she has changed England's identity. She has changed the mentality of the team. Every team she has managed has been transformed by her.

The start to most of England's Euros have been slow. If you're not at your best in the first half against Germany, they can score three and they've pretty much won.

I think that England will win, but I'm worried about the start. Not necessarily scoring, but just starting well and not allowing Germany to dominate and find chances.

Beth Mead celebrates with Keira Walsh
Manchester City defender Esme Morgan says the stability introduced by England manager Sarina Weigman has helped them get to the Euro 2022 final

It is set up in such a way that if it breaks you, Germany will win. England is going to win.

It has already been a big tournament for England. It's one of the best performances I've seen from an England Women's side, and we should be very confident in Sarina. She is the key to the success. She knows what to do and how to use her talent.

It's worked despite the fact that she's been repetitive with it. Germany won't be easy, but we need to have faith because there is a lot to be positive about.

Toloui: England are facing a different beast

Sky sports news reporter.

Even though they're in a final, the magnitude of what this team has accomplished hasn't hit home. The course of football in this country could be changed by them. For a long time, we could be talking about this.

The mentality is a big factor going into this. We talk about the rivalry between England and Germany but England's record isn't good. There were two wins in 27 games.

It was against a Germany team missing 14 players through illness and injury that the last win came. The Germany XI started at Wolves in the Arnold Clark Cup. One of the players of the tournament was not present.

Beth Mead and Lauren Hemp join Fran Kirby (centre) in celebrating her goal that put England 4-0 ahead against Sweden in their Euro 2022 semi-final at Bramall Lane
Former England goalkeeper Siobhan Chamberlain says the England team will be full of confidence ahead of their Euro 2022 final against Germany on Sunday

It shows how good and dominant Germany are, even though it is a different team and a different generation. The whole culture and DNA of that set-up is a winning mentality. They're aware of what it takes to win.

They have a lot of fight in them. The ruthlessness that we talk about is when they see a shift in momentum. They are trying to slay a different beast but they are so evenly matched.

White: Final win will be sweeter if England beat Germany

Image: Faye White never beat Germany in her international career

The former England captain is a woman.

I think I would be a lot more comfortable because I wouldn't have had the history I would've had with Germany. The current team don't feel that way. Over the last few years, it has been close.

Sarina approached Sweden in a different way than ours. We didn't have a good history against them, but they know how to win. I think it's meant to be, but there is some doubt because it's the Germans.

It will be so much sweeter if they beat them. I think England have what it takes to win. They seem to be enjoying the challenge.

George Russell, Lando Norris, and the British W Series drivers send messages of support to the Lionesses ahead of Sunday's Euro 2022 final

You feel more invested in it because you know what the players have had to go through to get to that point, like I did. The younger ones might have had it a bit easier in terms of a path through centers of excellence and youth groups with England up to the senior ones.

If they win it, it will be so sweet. It will return me to 2009, but hopefully with a better result. They believe that Sarina has done it and that she has the same hymn sheet.

If they approach it the same way she has approached all the other games, they can do something special. They think they can get the result.
