A teen saved her dog by swimming to a rooftop to be rescued during flooding that killed 25 people

A Kentucky teenager saved her dog by swimming to a rooftop as they waited to be rescued fromWidespread flooding in the state.

The water quickly rose in the home she shares with her grandparents after she woke up. According to the news organization, Adams was home alone with her dog.

Sandy was put in a plastic drawer to keep her dry before swimming to the roof of the storage building. After more than five hours, her cousin used a kayak to take them from the roof.

At least 25 people have died in Kentucky as a result of catastrophic flooding in the eastern part of the state.

In the last week, Kentucky has been hit with floods.

Terry Adams wrote that his daughter waited for hours to be rescued. Adams said that his daughter was a hero and that they lost everything.
