A Kentucky teenager saved her dog by swimming to a rooftop as they waited to be rescued fromWidespread flooding in the state.
The water quickly rose in the home she shares with her grandparents after she woke up. According to the news organization, Adams was home alone with her dog.

Sandy was put in a plastic drawer to keep her dry before swimming to the roof of the storage building. After more than five hours, her cousin used a kayak to take them from the roof.
