  • The city was told about the struggles of working during a heat wave.

  • According to The City's report, a worker said his boss told him to stop drinking water.

  • The drivers are trained to deal with the heat, according to the spokesman.

The City reported on Thursday that a man accused his boss of telling him to stop drinking water during the hot weather.

The worker told The City that he was reprimanded when stopped for 47 seconds to drink water. The worker said that his supervisor said it was pointless.

Some employees told the publication that it was more difficult for them to work because of the high temperatures.

Workers described how hard it was to work in the heat. Chris Cappadonna told the publication that his hands became cramped and he had trouble breathing when he tried to carry furniture in the heat.

Two workers from the city's Sanitation Department came to help him. He said that Cappadonna went to the emergency room.

Paramedics were called to attend to Nick Gubell, a delivery driver who was sick at the end of his shift. He missed his shift the next day because he went to the hospital.

The driver told The City that she went to a nail salon to rest because of the heat. She said that she took to the wheel after sleeping for 20 minutes.

The health and safety of employees is a top priority for the company. The drivers are trained to deal with hot weather. About 130 times a day, our package delivery vehicles make frequent stops, which requires the engine to be turned off and the doors to be opened and closed.

The company said it had taken steps to reduce heat. We don't want our employees to risk their health or work in an unsafe way.

In the same weather conditions as the ones described in The City's report, a driver for United Parcel Service collapsed at a customer's front door and was caught on camera. The driver was helped by a manager, according to a spokesman for the shipping company.
