The August 6 boxing pay-per-view card has been canceled due to a weight issue with Hasim Rahman Jr.

The event was to be held in New York.

Rahman's camp told Paul's team Saturday that Rahman was going to weigh in at 215 pounds. Rahman had originally signed a contract for a fight at 200 pounds, but Paul was willing to compromise to do the fight at 205 pounds. If the bout was not at 215 pounds, Rahman's camp would pull out of the fight.

MVP and Jake Paul will not reward someone that has conducted themselves in such a deceptive and calculated manner. The August 6th event was canceled due to this. Jake Paul,Amanda Serrano and every other fighter on the card who have trained hard over the past few months will be impacted by this outcome. Hasim Rahman must be held responsible for his lack of professionalism.

Rahman's representative declined to comment when contacted by the sports network.

Serrano was supposed to fight Carabajal in the co-main event of the card.

The fight between Paul and Rahman was put together in early July when Tommy withdrew from his fight with Paul due to travel issues.

Rahman agreed to fight at 200 pounds. Rahman gave evidence that he wouldn't lose more than 10% of his weight between then and the fight. Rahman weighed as much as 270 pounds as a pro before he fought at 224 pounds.

Rahman weighed in at over 200 pounds on July 7 and his team assured him that he was on track to make the weight. Rahman and his father said they were confident that the weight would not be a problem.

According to the statement, Rahman provided a signed statement from his doctor that his weight was moving in the right direction.

The assurances were not made in good faith, according to the statement.

Rahman had lost less than one pound since he signed for the fight, according to the statement. The fight wouldn't be allowed if it was less than 205 pounds because the commission wouldn't approve it, according to the report. If Rahman missed the weight, a new contract was sent to his team with weight alterations and penalties.

After receiving his new contract Saturday morning, Rahman's camp indicated for the first time that he planned to weigh 215 lbs. at the official weigh-in and would not agree to weigh-in at 205 lbs and inform Most Valuable promotions that they are pulling out of the fight. There was a request for comment on Saturday night.
