Tua airs it out to Tyreek for a 65-yard TD (0:19)

Tua Tagovailoa made a touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill. (0:20).

4:16 PM ET

The show was held in Miami.

The Miami Dolphins receiver welcomed fans to the team's training camp before flipping the field to get them excited.

He connected with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on a 65-yard touchdown pass later in the practice. Hill said in an interview that everyone is open 24 hours.

There were a few rookies who made their mark. In New Orleans, a reporter for the Saints said Chris Olave had the play of the day, connecting with quarterback JameisWinston on a 60-yard touchdown pass. According to Jets reporter Rich Cimini, the 10th overall pick in this year's draft made two great catches during practice.

You need to know more from the camps.

What our NFL Nation reporters saw today

The last play of the day featured a skirmish after the Bills put on pads. Josh Allen tried to run in a two point conversion after throwing a touchdown pass. JordanPhillips made contact with the quarterback as the play ended. Allen put his hands onPhillips facemask. The offense and defense had to be pulled apart but it was quickly resolved. The center said that "stuff like that is going to happen" on the first day with pads. Hyde left Friday's practice with a hip/glute injury. He's considered a day-to-day situation.

James Bradberry is making a good impression with his new team. Saturday was his best training camp practice to date, as he used his size and physical strength to mostly lock up receiver A.J. Brown.

Early on, the trio of Bradberry, Slay and Maddox has looked strong.

Mac Jones didn't seem too happy after practice, and instead of mingling with teammates and their families as he had in the past, he retreated quickly to the locker room. One reason for his possible ire is a pick-six on one of his final pass attempts when the initial read wasn't open, he pumped and pulled the ball down, then tried to laser a pass in to DeVanteParker that Kyle Dugger took the other way.

The New York Giants have a third-year defensive back. He forced a turnover on a daily basis. It was done by punching the ball out of Saquon's hand. The safety almost returned the item for a score. In four days, he has three turnovers and three intercepts. It's good to see him be a force in camp. He is the favorite to start at corner.

Atlanta had two fights at the end of practice and aggressive play on both offense and defense in what Falcons head coach Arthur Smith dubbed "probably the most competitive practice we've had since I've been the coach here" Smith broke it up in the middle of the fight.

Smith has changed the approach and culture of the Falcons and Saturday's practice was an example of that.

Guys should be active and not sitting back. Dean Pees said it was football. You want guys that are going to compete. When you're beaten, you want guys who get their burr up a little bit.

The New Orleans Saints had a wide receiver on the field. The Saints first-round pick got open on a busted coverage and Jameis Winston hit him in stride for a 60-yard touchdown. It wasn't the only nice catch that Olave had, as he followed it up with a 15-yard grab from the quarterback a short time later.

If Gary and Smith play like they did in the first week of camp, Joe Barry won't want to take them out of the game. Gary has flushed Rodgers out of the pocket many times. Gary didn't know how many sacks he would have when he was asked how many he thought he would have. Gary said that was a good number. Smith put a pressure on Rodgers on Saturday. The duo combined for over 20 sacks last season. "It's pretty clear who our one and two are but as far as three through five, I think it's anyone's guess," coach Matt LaFleur said.

When describing the quarterback, Mike Williams kept it easy. Williams was happy after Saturday's practice. Herbert's connection with Williams has appeared effortless through four days of camp, so during Saturday's workout Herbert increased the difficulty in front of a large crowd. Herbert found Allen near the sideline. The fans were loud. Herbert's comfortability in the offense and with himself has grown as a third-year pro. Williams said that he's a lot loose.

The Jets held their first public practice, giving fans their first up- close look at their highly-touted draft class. The rookies did a great job. CB Ahmad "Sauce"Gardner held up well in coverage with the starting defense, as evidenced by the two catches he made. The crowd favourite was the running back. He touched the ball and the crowd screamed. The Jets are expecting a lot out of their rookies. "None of us have an issue with those expectations," said the DE.

Top NFL news of the day

Maurice Hurst is going to have surgery on his torn bicep.

The San Francisco 49ers defensive line depth is being tested early in training camp, as defensive tackle Maurice Hurst suffered a torn bicep in Friday's practice and will need surgery.

He will most likely miss the whole season.

After the surgery, we'll see. I don't know if that's how biceps work out.

Ryan Kerrigan ends his career as a football player.

Ryan Kerrigan was proud that he took a consistent approach that resulted in the same results. When he couldn't do it, he decided the best outcome was retirement.

Kerrigan signed a one day contract with the Washington Commanders, ending his career after 11 years. He joined the Philadelphia Eagles in the summer of 2016 after playing 10 seasons for Washington.
