The prize package for the "Retro Beach Motelier" includes $10,000 for transportation to the "10 best retro beach motels" and $5,000 for spending during the trip.
The winner will receive a solar-powered AM/FM radio, striped umbrellas, and a retro Polaroid camera to document the trip for future generations.
A brief questionnaire must be filled out by midnight on August 5. The application has questions like "If you time traveled to the '50s, who would you spend your beach vacation with?"
The winners will be chosen on August 12 and applicants must be at least 21 years old.
Miami's Vagabond Hotel and San Diego's The Pearl Hotel are both on Hotels.com's list of the best retro beach motel.
The contest was designed to prove that beach motels can be just as luxurious as all-inclusive resorts, according to Hotels.com.
Dohmen said that the timeless motels are budget-friendly but will transport beachgoers back in time to truly relax.
