Goshorn didn't think his post about his new job at Walmart would go crazy, but it did.

A man from Ohio posted a video on TikTok saying he was quitting his job as a teacher to work at Walmart.

He wrote in the clip that he would leave teaching after six years to become a manager at Walmart and make more money than he used to.

Goshorn told Good Morning America that he changed jobs because he was making too much money.

He said that it was a lot better than he thought.

He had been working in education for five and a half years, first as a reading tutor and then as a teacher. He made $43,000 teaching in Ohio. He said he would make $55,000 a year as a stocking 2 coach at Walmart, which would include ensuring delivery trucks are unloaded.

The pay of teachers is a notoriously bad part of the profession.

He told GMA that he doesn't want this to be that he's just trying to discourage people from becoming teachers. That's not true. My teacher friends should be paid the same.

If teachers could focus on teaching and not have to work a second job on the weekends, they would be better teachers. I would have liked to see them leave because they didn't have to work a second job.
