The upcoming sixth season of Adult Swim's Rick & Morty is a big deal, and every new season of the show is a big deal. Having a multi-season renewal offers some degree of safety, but there is still a degree of unpredictability from the show that makes it worth discussing. The sixth season of the show is a chance to right the ship.
Roiland spoke with IGN about his aims with the new season and stated that it will be "fuck amazing" compared to the previous season. The season was in the middle of production when the producer died. Roiland said that it was difficult because of the loss of Mendel. We were thrown around a lot. Yes, that was indeed. I will start to cry if I stop talking.
Roiland said that this season will see the show get back into the swing of things. It really rewards fans of the show that have been following it. If you just happen to be tuning in on a random night, you can expect a few point of entry episodes.
Roiland has a lot of work ahead of him. He also runs his own studio and is an executive producer of Solar Opposites, which is getting a fourth season. High on Life, a first-person shooter featuring talking guns, is set to release in October and will be the next game from the studio.
