Jon Stewart criticized Sen. Ted Cruz over a veterans bill.
Stewart initially uploaded a clip addressing inaccuracy to a response Cruz gave on why Republicans blocked the PACT Act.
The dispute is over Democrats taking $400 billion in discretionary spending and shifting it to mandatory spending.
Stewart pointed out that it wasn't a trick.
Ah Theodore, good morning." I agree with you and JesseBWatters that they should not try and kill more vets. Stewart said he would go slow because he knew he only went to Harvard andPrinceton. Stewart referred to Jesse Waters' segment on him on "Jesse Waters Primetime" where Waters claimed the comedian's blame on Republicans for the PACT Act not passing was "misguided."
"Anything in the government is either mandatory or discretionary depending on which bucket they choose to put it in." Stewart said that the whole place is a shell game and that he is pretending that this is a new thing that the Democrats pulled out.
Stewart said that he could read and that he was not a big city Harvard educated lawyer. It has always been compulsory.

Cruz said Stewart was a funny guy.
Cruz said in a video that he appreciated his engagement on issues.
He said that the "facts matter" and that he believes in taking care of veterans.
"If you actually want to see this bill pass, if you're not just playing partisan politics, it may not be the best idea to curse at people who support the bill that you want to see passed," Cruz said.

Stewart has advocated for veterans on Capitol Hill for many years. He spoke to Congress about how he and his friend, 9/11 first responders Ray Pfeifer, knocked on doors to speak to lawmakers who ignored their questions.
Stewart criticized Republican senators for blocking the advancement of the PACT Act, which would have expanded access to health care for veterans exposed to burn pits.
This is the most corrupt thing I've ever seen. Stewart told reporters on Capitol Hill that the people who fought and defended their right were the ones who were sad. Stewart said America is fucked if this is America first.
