It can be difficult to send your device for repair with stories of hackers selling personal information in bulk on forums. You can wipe your phone, but you have to restore it afterwards. The new function called "Repair Mode" is a solution for that problem.

The new mode can be activated in the settings under battery and device care. When activated, the feature hides your personal information, photos, messages and linked accounts. The technician will only see the pre-installed apps. You can regain access to your data by disabling repair mode and using pattern or fingerprints.

It's most likely safe to say that the feature is only available in the company's home country at the present time. It is only available on the S21 phones. The company will roll out repair mode to other models in the future.
