Magbanua faces up to 60 additional years in prison for her role in the murder of Dan Markel, a renowned Florida State law professor.
An automatic life sentence was imposed on Magbanua after he was found guilty of first-degree murder by a 12-person jury. There is a chance of a 30-year sentence for each charge.

According to the motion, Willie Meggs, the State Attorney at the time, said that what the police said was Adelson's role in the murder wasspeculation, and that's why he didn't approve his arrest.
A secretly recorded video of him and Magbanua talking at a Miami restaurant is new evidence that exonerates his client. Adleson repeatedly said he had nothing to do with Markel's murder while he and Magbanua discussed how to handle an undercover FBI agent.
