  • Twitter found working on a new test drive feature.
  • The new test drive allows users to "try Twitter" and experience the platform without signing up for an account.
  • It is a limited test drive experience that enables users to follow and read tweets.

A new experiment is being worked on that will allow users to try out the service before committing.

Jane Manchun Wong, a security researcher, spotted the test on the social networking site. The splash screen shared by Wong has a new login page with a "Try" button and a typical sign up link at the bottom.

Users can take part in the experience for a short time. Even without an account, the test requires some data to be collected to create a personalized experience. The "Personalize based on places you've been" option is a must for those users.

When using the new feature, the user's geographical location will be collected by the service. You can still find the conventional sidebar once you arrive. Users would still need to sign up or sign in to participate in many actions.

The first iteration of the new practice doesn't have a lot of new features, but it is basic. It is subject to change as a result of feedback taken during the test drive. She suggests that there could be room for improvement, as well as giving users an enhanced experience before they log into the app.

All of the new features on the platform could make it hard for new users. People can take a test drive to get a feel for the platform before they join.

The recent earnings show that there has been an increase in daily active users on the platform as a result of the Musk takeover. The company reported a drop in revenue and may need to figure out how to make more money.
