It's all done. The Owlbear is the only one It was all I needed. An Owlbear is a bear that has an owl's head, for people who haven't watched the Honor Among Thieves trailer. It is one of the best-loved monsters in D&D, but it is not the same as the Displacer Beast or Gelatinous Cube. It doesn't look right. It's crazy. The owl head doesn't make it any more formidable than a regular bear, only that it gives it a beak and talons, which is a move from a bear's claws and fangs. The bear has a bird head. I really like it.
The best part of playing D&D is being creative and having fun. It is not that the tales told in role-playing game sessions can't be solemn or emotional, but we have an abundance of fantasy stories nowadays that take themselves with an intense seriousness. Fantasy can be fun, and those are my favorite sessions, where I hang with friends, play a game, and laugh at Critical Success.
This movie could be really bad. The story could end up being terrible, it could be nothing more than fan service, or it could even mock the source material and the nerds that love the game. There is however.
Toxic fans and celebrities who turn out to be monsters can make the world of nerdery sad. Even if there are few and far between moments like that, there will always be a moment like that.
The Tiefling Druid in the movie is an Owlbear. It is still an Owl bear. Owl bears rule.
